Jeff has been an ADI since 2009. He started out part-time until he realised that he had a real flair for instruction. Jeff then left his job in insurance and became a full-time, professional and patient instructor in Bournemouth. He decided to join YES! Driving School because of the good reputation the company has and the high expectations they require from their instructors.
Jeff always enjoys driving and the challenges it can bring, which is why he enjoys sharing his skills. He understands the worries and concerns of some new drivers. He empathises with a pupil who has anxieties and low confidence for example. Jeff likes to make lessons fun and relaxed to build confidence with his pupils. If a pupil has a particular learning style or requirement, Jeff is willing to go the extra mile to ensure that these are met. Jeff comes across as a patient and professional personality who also loves to laugh. His main aim is to produce safe drivers who are prepared for life on the road.
During his free time he likes spending time walking his NINE dogs, relaxing with a film, as well as sports and socialising.

Best man in town. Has all the knowledge and makes lessons a good laugh whilst also teaching you good ways to drive safely and to understand how to use the car and rules of the road. All around great guy and has plenty of experience, passed first time along with 6 or so others In the same 2 weeks. Jeff is the one. Made it very easy to book lessons as he is extremely reliable and good at responding.
Can’t speak highly enough of Jeff. He was recommended by someone who sang his praises and they were 100% correct. Jeff has a way of explaining things that really make you understand the areas of driving you struggle with. He makes you feel at ease and is not afraid of a good bit of banter too. Passed first time, zero faults. The proof is in the pudding.
I had the best experience learning with Jeff, he made me feel calm and at ease every single lesson right up to the test. Always up for a singalong and laugh. He was always on time and flexible with the lessons which worked really well with my routine. Wouldn’t have been able to pass 1st time without him, best driving instructor around. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Better late than never, I passed my Driving Test at the end of 2021. Jeff was an excellent instructor who helped me feel comfortable behind the wheel. I used to struggle with making quick decisions under pressure on the road but with lots of practice and Jeff’s humourous approach, I overcome this. Jeff was a great instructor, even though we had a year and a half to prepare for our first test due to covid we prepared thoroughly, every off lesson I had he would help keep me calm and composed throughout the remainder of the lesson, managed to pass first time which I couldn’t imagine I could’ve done with another instructor, he was funny and great to talk to and shared similar hobbies and interests which we would chat about constantly which again would help keep me calm, would highly recommend him! I adored learning with Jeff and I genuinely miss having his witty chat in the passenger seat now that I’m on the road alone. Thanks to Jeff’s calm but firm teaching, and ability to push me out of my comfort zone each week (while keeping the experience fun), I passed both my theory and practical quickly and first time.
I had the whole spectrum of emotions during my lessons with Jeff – frustration, fear, and there was even a monumental breakdown involving lots of tears during one memorable lesson – which he managed superbly, whipping out tissues, cracking jokes and building my confidence back up immediately. But mainly there was just fun, laughter, patience and progress in every single lesson – I can’t thank him enough for taking a scary experience and making it something to look forward to every week!
I highly recommend everyone learn with Jeff! Although I do have his voice and terrible singing in my head now on every single journey I drive 😉

Jeff is a fantastic instructor. I’m the sort of person who always asks a million questions about everything and he was not only expertly knowledgeable in his answers, but patient and understanding when I didn’t quite get things right away.
He pushes you enough to get out of your comfort zone but not so much that you’re scared.
On the lessons leading up to my test he allowed me to choose what I wanted to practice so that I was confident in myself, even if he was already confident I could do it.
Thanks to Jeff I passed first time, and I couldn’t be happier.
Above all that he is friendly, funny, and just a great bloke all around. I will miss our Tuesday nights!

Had best instructor ever, very calm and really gives you the confidence to go on the road. He doesnt micro manage and i find it really helpful to have patient instructor. I have learnt more about clutch control and more with him than with my previous instructor in London. I have been learning a lot and would recommend him to my friends in Dorset!

Jeff is brilliant. Totally calm and patient but also constantly pushes you out of your comfort zone so your driving improves quickly. With Jeff as my instructor I passed first time, even though I’m generally uncoordinated and panic easily. The lessons were always fun and never stressful, I can’t recommend him highly enough. An excellent instructor and a really nice fella too.
Where do I even begin Jeff is the funniest and most down to earth guy I couldn’t recommend Him enough for anyone that wants to learn to drive, the constant banter makes driving a breeze would have to give Jeff a 11/10

I passed first time with only 2 minors, had Jeff Sullivan as my driving instructor and he was such a good teacher, he taught me everything I needed to know for the test, of your ready for your test he will tell you and book you in he doesn’t but drag lessons out. Passed first time with Jeff. With a year break in between lessons when starting uni in a new city. I approached Jeff again and managed to pass over the summer. He’s been very helpful, friendly, patient and positive during every lesson. Very clear guidance and we had a laugh as well! Driving was never boring. Would highly recommend. 🙂
I had a few driving lessons prior to Jeff and found I was dreading my lessons and had no confidence with my ability so I ended up taking a break from driving completely. A work colleague told me all about Jeff and he couldn’t of come more highly recommended, so i booked him straight away! Jeff creates such a great environment to learn driving in with his terrible jokes and equally bad singing that it takes away any nerves or anxiety over driving so you can just focus on getting you through that test and ready to drive on your own. I can’t thank him enough for making every lesson feel like a huge confidence boost and getting me through my test first time with only 2 minors (and a lot quicker then I ever thought possible!)

Jeff was brilliant!! I’d failed my test five times in Southampton but after moving to Bournemouth and having six lessons with Jeff I passed with only three minors!! I really enjoyed my lessons complete with songs and Dad jokes. Would thoroughly recommend!

Jeff is brilliant! I was an older learner driver (37yrs old), very nervous after having been in two car accidents in my life as a passenger, I lacked self confidence in my ability to drive. Jeff put me at ease, extremely easy to get along with, knows what he's doing, is straight talking with a lot of laughs, and had faith in my driving….and thanks to him, I passed my test last week- first attempt! I'll always recommend Jeff to anyone, he's very patient, knows what he's doing.

Jeff as a driving instructor is what you could say one of a kind… Having lessons with Jeff is a hilariously fun experience, but in between all the dad jokes and the smart remarks Jeff is a great teacher, and makes the whole experience so much more relaxed. Yes driving school is absolutely fabulous! My instructor Jeff was a brilliant instructor and I couldn't have got a better instructor. His relaxed vibe and hilarious sense of humour kept me calm and happy during all my lessons, and kept me as calm as I could be on the run up to my test. I learnt and picked things up quickly and the lessons were very particle so I learnt as I tried different things rather than reading lost from little books. I definitely recommend Jeff and can't thank him enough for helping me pass my test!

After coming from another instructor and going with Jeff I would always recommend Jeff. He's got so much patience and has a calm manner, I'm not the easiest person to teach but he keep calm throughout and he had a little laugh with you which kept you at ease. I changed driving schools to Yes driving, I was very nervous about learning to drive. However, Jeff straight away made me feel at ease and made learning to drive enjoyable. Jeff was a terrific teacher. He brought me on very rapidly so that I could pass my test with relatively few lessons. He gave me confidence In my driving. He was always punctual and generous with his time. I would recommend him without hesitation.
