Rob began his driving instruction career in 2009 and established himself as an excellent manual instructor. In 2011 he decided to turn his hand as an Automatic Instructor in Bournemouth and he has continued his success with YES! Driving School.
In his previous careers Rob spent 10 years working as a stonemason restoring and conserving historic buildings around the UK. Attention to detail was an integral part of his work. This is a skill that he has continued to develop with pupils. He worked his way up the career ladder to become a site manager within the same field where he stayed for a further 4 years. Beyond this Rob worked in IT for 5 years as a systems analyst, monitoring worldwide computer systems for a large bank where once again attention to detail and fault analysis were key skills.
With an excellent pass rate you can be sure of first class training to a very high standard, coupled with the ability to put even the most nervous people at ease. “I tailor my lessons to suit each individual pupil and their specific needs. They could be a complete novice or a qualified driver looking for a refresher course. Or a newly qualified driver wanting to take some motorway training, I’m happy to help!”
Based in Throop, Rob is a fantastic automatic instructor in Bournemouth and all surrounding areas. He recently cruised through his Standards Check with a superb Grade ‘A’.
Rob has a passion for all things relating to cars and motoring. He may be what you would call a true petrolhead, and is always keen to help people become confident and most importantly safe drivers.
In his free time Rob enjoys a bit of DIY, playing guitar. He also enjoys walks with Jeff the Boxer dog, and growing and eating super hot chilli peppers. He is happy to share if that is to your taste. 🙂

I am truly grateful to Rob for being calm, patient and an amazing instructor through my learning journey. I started off being a very low confident and stressed out driver. Rob’s constant encouragement and faith in my abilities helped me pass my test in the first attempt! He would draw up details, use his toy car to demonstrate and when nothing worked he would get behind the wheel and show me techniques that have helped me clear the test and will help me in future as well. Rob was my trainer for car driving and I am so glad I made that decision. It was a pleasure learning driving with him.
Rob is very detail oriented, patient and very articulate in explaining minute details of driving and tips very effectively. He always made sure I understood what he was trying to explain and why it is so important and to do that he had several ways to explain with practical examples and analogies. He was very honest in assessing my preparation and in giving me confidence to prepare well and pass in first attempt and I am so glad I did pass in FIRST ATTEMPT and it wouldn’t have been possible without Rob.
I cannot recommend Rob highly enough for anyone who wants to learn driving and get a license.

Brilliant instructor, genuine and honest and patient and all round nice guy with good knowledge on driving and excellent tips on where to improve, and amazing teacher, highly recommended, I passed 1st time this was largely down to rob, definitely a credit to YES driving school 10/10

Rob was the perfect teacher! He had endless amounts of patience for me and always went the extra mile to find a style of teaching that worked best for me. After my lessons with Rob I was able to pass first time with only one driving fault! I would honestly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn.

This is long overdue but I can't miss thanking Rob for teaching me and building my confidence to pass my driving test. His teaching tools range from tennis ball to a tablet and they helped me a lot to learn how to drive safely. You got to book with him to see how brilliant he is.

Rob is a great teacher! I was very lucky to have him as instructor! I was pregnant when I started the lessons and passed the exam few weeks before having the baby! He was so patient and helped me to learn everything for the exam. Now I am so grateful because the licence is so useful having 2 children, and having to run up and down all day (thank God in a car!) Did I mention that on top of this, I was a nervous driver! So yes, I will recommend Rob to anyone and everyone! Thank you again Rob!
